The Andrew Wilson Award was awarded to Professor Matthew Walker for services to people with RLS. Professor Walker is a Professor of Neurology at the Institute of Neurology at the University College London. Professor Walker in receiving the award said what a great honour it was and that he wished that more people could be helped. He said that there are a limited repertoire of treatments that can help people at the moment. He hoped that there would be more research in the future both into effective treatments and the relationship between RLS and brain iron. He also said he wished there was more education available for clinicians to help people not only with mild RSL but also with moderate to severe RLS.
Dr Spinks, Chair of RLS-UK thanked Professor Walker for all that he was doing and the work to help people with RLS.
